Mary Kate has been teaching art since 2013. She currently resides in Providence, Rhode Island, where she teaches elementary art. Prior to living in Providence, she taught middle school and high school art in Maryland and K-8 art in Philadelphia. She received her B.S in Art Education in 2013 and her M.Ed in Art Education in 2019 from Kutztown University.

Mary Kate is a recognized art educator, having been awarded Anne Arundel County Public School’s Outstanding New Middle School Art Educator in 2015 and City Year Philadelphia's "The Shoulder of Giants" award in 2022. She has also presented at national and state-level conferences and was featured on the podcast, K-12 Art Chat. She is currently serving as the RIAEA Elementary Division chair.

A mixed media artist and ceramicist, she loves the process of making.
