My goal as an art educator is to foster and cultivate a joy for the process of making and learning in my students. The learning experiences that I provide my students are “hands on- minds on”, student centered, and culturally responsive. With a focus on integrating social and emotional learning into my practice, I explore how process and play can help build confidence, inquiry, and meaning making.
My philosophy is inspired by socio-constructivist theories, democratic and relational practices and inquiry based practices. I draw connections to the work of Julia Marshall, Olivia Gude, and Teaching Artistic Behaviors.
Learning is organic, continually building on self.
